I recently took part in a new documentary about Rendlesham with producer Paul Wookey that was in part funded by UFO Matrix magazine. The programme also featured Colonel Charles Halt and Nick Pope.

BEYOND THE PARANORMAL RADIO SHOW

On Sunday 22nd November I was the quest for an hour on the Paul and Ben 'Beyond the Paranormal' on the US CBS radio network show. The show reviewed my work with police officer sightings and my involvement in the Rendlesham Forest incident regarding the film script I have written in collaboration with Colonel Halt.

THE PASSING OF BETTY MEYLER

UFO RESEARCHER - Betty Meyler - A remarkable woman

There have been many touching tributes to Betty Meyler by researchers throughout the world since the untimely death a few days ago but I thought I would share a side of Betty that few people knew. I met Betty in 2001 after my first ever appearance at a UFO Conference in Leeds after Graham Birdsall did an armchair interview with me. At the end a number of people came up to me for a chat, one of them being Betty Meyler. I remember talking to this spritely and well spoken lady for several minutes and afterwards assumed I would never see her again but in early 2004 and completely out of the blue she emailed me inviting me to appear at her first ever International Conference to be held in Galway on the west coast of Southern Ireland. It was to be the first time I'd ever spoken outside of England and the line up of her speakers was superb, the likes of Stanton Freidman and Dr Roger Leir to name but two. When I finally met with her I couldn't help but be touched by her enthusiasm for the subject of UFOs which for her was something relatively new in her life. Following the death of Graham Birdsall and the closure of UFO Magazine there was a massive void on the Conference side in the UK and there was Betty putting on a world class conference in the Republic of Ireland for the very first time. The conference was well attended but few people realised that such was the massive scope of the undertaking that she lost several thousands of pounds in the process. Yet far from deterred she immediately set about preparing for the following year's conference determined to make it bigger and better. It was also at that conference that I met Valerie who was a very close friend of Betty's. Valerie went onto to become my partner for six years and during that time I made many trips to Boyle in County Roscommon where we would always find time to have a meal with her, often at her home high on the hills overlooking the town. During those six years I got to know her better than most researchers because of her deep friendship with Valerie. Betty was a deeply spiritual person and had long been known in the Boyle area for holding weekly meditation sessions. She was a popular and well known figure in the town. Such was her love of anything mystical she labelled Valerie and I has her 'daughter and son' in a previous life she'd had. I was touched by her sentiment. It was over those years that I saw her struggles at close quarter with various cancers most of which she beat hands down with sheer willpower and determination. She was a stoical figure. She never once played the sympathy line. And so for six years from 2004 though to 2009 she held her annual UFO Conference and during that time the line up of speakers was exceptional. I well remember at what was to become her last conference in 2009 that she broke the news of her fresh bout of cancer to everyone in the audience. I remember people openly gasping at her bravery in the face of enormous adversity. That was Betty, "Cancer - what's cancer, I'll beat the thing, I've done it before!" Because of my friendship through Valerie I spoke on three occasions at her conferences and will be forever grateful for that. Despite losses on most occasions she was the epitemy of self belief. She really did try to spread the UFO word in the Republic of Ireland. She was always doing radio work and TV interviews determined to let people know that UFOs and ET were a reality. Once she decided to do something she went for it 100%. As I finish my tribute to this remarkable lady I just thought I'd give you an insight into her private life that I suspect few people know. How many knew that in her early adult life that she had spent many years in India living the life of a rich businessman wife, cocktail parties galore! If I'm not mistaken she had also got involved in charitable work out there for the under priveleged at a time when few 'women' were allowed to do anything. Later on in life she became a private pilot and also a well known hotelier in the Boyle area but it is for her unshaken belief in the reality of UFOs that I think people will best remember her for. So with a tear in my eye, it's bye to my spiritual 'mum.'

8TH REPORT RELEASED - 21/05/2010

Today the 8th Annual PRUFOS Police Database is released for publication.

This report adds another 56 cases involving 93 British police officers to the existing figures.

When added to the figures for the last seven years the total now stands at 357 cases dating back to 1901 involving 800 British police officers.
